15 Facts Your Boss Wished You Knew About Item Upgrading

Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases such as Eth titans don't change in their stats following being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an added bonus or effect while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot from enemies, or received from missions and chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, include their name at the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can only be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a few essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

When an item is leveled out and is leveled out, it will be able to receive an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it will reset to zero on failure or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece of equipment is upgraded to its highest level it is able to gain affixes which will increase its features. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's base. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes, whereas a legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require a certain number of Flightstones and crests to complete based on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item is not able to reach its max level, the NPC will give players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers use a level in order to compare the height of the building with an established point, like an existing benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a very important part of the game, and it can increase an item's damage, strength, or other attributes. This can be accomplished through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be used in very rare instances.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the stats most important to your build more often than other items. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for each stat. This could be a positive or a bad thing, depending on your requirements and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the greater your chance of getting a unique bonus.

The game also features a number of sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on an item. This is a good method of giving an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character quicker, which enables players to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in different ways. They can be of different sizes, contain no elements, or contain a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be useful in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in several ways, including by size and shape.

There are many set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets with high defense values or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have lots of armor or weapons already.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own special functions, which can be particularly useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items up to par with the levels. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrading  item upgrader Casesgg -level set items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. The item will be displayed with its features, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general, weapons and armor have a higher trade value when fully updated. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also increase the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
